MTN Cameroon E-Campus
Architecture and delivery lead for a national telecom learning platform on AWS ECS Fargate.
Problem
MTN Cameroon needed a subscriber-scale learning platform with carrier billing and real-time fraud protection — not a single-school Moodle deployment.
Constraints
- Production stack deployed; operator-wide rollout pending
- DCB fraud screening in the payment path
- 11 stakeholders across Campusna, Evina, and MTN
- Cross-border engineering delivery
My role
As Technical Manager at Campusna, I led technical architecture, payment and fraud integrations, and program coordination across 11 stakeholders. I directed ECS topology and production deployment; implementation was delivered by the engineering team.
Outcome
- Live production environment at mtn-e-campus.campusna.com
- ~40% payment/API performance improvement
- ~2,000 users pre-registered during validation
- 5 ECS Fargate services in production
Lessons learned
- Separate payment services from the LMS monolith for independent scaling
- Run fraud screening synchronously in the billing path
- Ship production infrastructure early — operator rollout follows validation
